Valentine's Day
 Having fun at The Bavarian
|
February was an exciting month for all of us! Norman and Susan had a wonderful idea to celebrate Valentine's Day this year by getting together for dinner
and dancing to generate donations and spread the word about the special loving place La Casa de Los Niņos.
Petra, the owner of The Bavarian Garden Restaurant in Guayabitos, did a wonderful job with the food, and the atmosphere was full of friendship.
We had a silent auction of donations and special valentine's cookies made by the children using our new stove
and with the help of some of the volunteers from Tlaquepaque. About 200 people attended and donations exceeded $1300 USD!
We all thank Norman and Susan Malkoske for having such a wonderful idea, working so hard and being so successful. We exceeded our goals in the turn out numbers,
donations, and FUN!

Classes, Crafts & Activities Continue
We had a full compliment of English and Activities Classes during the month with the help of our volunteers. There were seven English classes, taught by 15 volunteer teachers,
and cooking, arts and crafts activities organized by another 10 volunteers.
The kids--and adults, too!--had a real treat when Eva, a professional story teller, took time one Saturday morning to
do a presentation. The lively, spirited tales immediately caught everyone's attention and we all sat enthralled as Eva recounted the adventures of a
finicky Princess in one stroy and of how a smart rabbit tricked a mean lion in a second.
