More Classes
The English classes continue to be very much in demand. We have now added another four classes on Friday, as well as one on Tuesday mornings for those students
who attend the second shift at the middle school, and thus were unable to attend during our regularly scheduled afternoon classes. We also had so many requests
from adults that we are now offering two classes for them: one in English, another in basic computing .

Projects and Activities
In addition to the English and activities classes held at La Casa de los Niños, students and staff have become
involved in several "extracurricular" projects, such as beach clean-up, tree planting, city beautification, environmental awareness, sanitation issues and
immunization programs.
With Dulce acting as our spokesperson, Lo de Marcos obtained a donation of 270 trees from the municipality of Bahía de Banderas. Many of the
kids from La Casa de los Niños then worked together to plant them throughout the town.

Weekend Activities
Even though classes are held only Monday through Friday, many weekends have seen La Casa de los Niños
bustling with activity as artists-in-residence and representatives of various social programs have donated time and energy to work with the kids, helping them
develop their creative talents using art, dance and music as media to remind them of their rich cultural heritage.

As you can see, the kids are very proud of their accomplishments, as well as the official "certificates" presented to those who take part. Other special classes have
included using creativity and imagination to make wonderful animal figures using rocks, painting paisajes (scenery) on tile and employing common items, such
as pipe cleaners and paper plates, to create masks, angels and figurines.
